If you’re like me, then trail running is a fun way to get outside, clear your head, and enjoy the natural high that you get from running in the mountains around Park City. It’s also a great excuse for why I can follow that form of exercise with a burger, fries and a beer. Staying motivated usually isn’t a problem, but at the end of a long work day it can be a little too easy to say, “I’ll go tomorrow instead.” One way to keep up your momentum is to set a goal. Entering an individual race or race series can be that extra motivation to throw on your running shoes and hit the trails. You don’t need to be a competitive athlete to enter a trail running race. Go for fun, go to challenge yourself, and if you think you can go for the podium, then that’s just an added bonus.
